Thank God that Bob was able to come back alive and finally be reunited with his loving mother again. Because not many military mothers, wives, or other loved ones are not that fortunate, as Doris was. I know this, because born and raised in a proud military family, I know how Doris felt. Sadly enough, I also saw many of my friends fathers return home from the war, in a grey aluminum casket, so I know it’s never easy for any military family to go through a sad experience like that. As a healthcare profesional I have also taken care of many wounded veterans in the VA hospital, so I know about many of the horror and sad stories they all had suffered during the wars they fought in. Even though I have total respect for the military families and the military funerals, the military can sometimes also be very heartless and screwed up, like what happened in this shocking story about Doris and her son Bob. That should have never happened. And shame on the US Army for allowing this to happen. In fact, I give them an F for failing to showing proper support to a lonely grieving mother, for being so insensitive to her emotional needs who was alone when they showed up at her doorstep, instead of being accompanied by a priest, another female, or other support personal, including other family members to be at her side and not leave her alone, because according to other medical evidence, people going through this painful experience should never be left alone, because they can sometimes end up hurting themselves, and that is not aceptable.
