As a new respiratory therapist, you can expect to have a busy and rewarding career. You will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with breathing disorders, such as asthma, COPD, and pneumonia. You will work closely with doctors and nurses to develop treatment plans and monitor patients’ progress. You may also be called upon to assist in emergency situations, such as when a patient is having trouble breathing or is in respiratory distress.
