Why You Shouldn’t Rake Leaves

There are a few reasons why you shouldn’t rake leaves. First, leaving leaves on the ground can actually benefit your lawn and garden by providing natural mulch and fertilizer as they decompose. Raking leaves can also be time-consuming and labor-intensive, especially if you have a large yard with many trees. Additionally, raking leaves can disturb beneficial insects and microorganisms that live in the leaf litter, disrupting the ecosystem in your yard. Instead of raking, consider mowing over the leaves to shred them into smaller pieces that can easily decompose, or simply leaving them in place to provide habitat for wildlife and improve soil health.
